Q: Happy Father's Day!
Who is your favorite dad character in a book and why?
My first thought was Kaylee's Dad
From the Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent
Kaylee's dad was absent for a lot of her life and kept things from her. I hated him for that at first but as the series continued I loved that he stepped up and tried to be a better father. He is also funny at times and I always loved how he kicked Nash out of the house. "Nash go home" Cause then Tod can just blink in hehe
Then I scanned through 100s of books I read and could only find one other awesome dad or I should say dads!
Lola's Dad's
From Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Lola's Dad's are so supportive and cool but also super loving! You really just have to read it to really know but they took her in and loved her when her mom was a deadbeat. Awesome Dad's.

I said the same thing about it being hard to think of a father in a book. In most books, parents are either absent or just horrible. I guess parents are just uncool. New follower!

I LOVED the dads in Lola! Great choice! And I've only read the first Soul Screamer book so I barely saw her dad, but now I'm anxious to continue and see how it goes!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these books, yeah I know I really need to! The dad sounds awesome it's true.
ReplyDeletehere is mine
Lola's dads were so awesome ! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved how they were really involved in her life and they were just too adorable when they were being protective !
I really have to read The Soul Screamer's series !
Don't know these dads, but I'll look them up on Goodreads. Check out my FF post. Old follower.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about Kaylees dad, he doesn't start off great but turns out to be awesome. I felt so sorry for him in If I Die. Lucas' dad in Dreamless is also a good one. He would do anything for his family and those he cares about.
ReplyDeleteNice!! Saw Kaylee's dad earlier elsewhere too! I did like him! Just not his choice to leave Kaylee behind in the first book. But all has been forgiven now! :)

ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated!
Points for originality, my friend! I've not come across a Kaylee's Dad mention so that's exciting. Unfortunately, I only got through two books in the series before something about it just turned me off to the whole thing. STILL. I wish I would've stuck around if to get to know Kaylee's mysterious dad.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lola's dads just plain rock. Love them both so hard!!
Following back! Thanks for the comment!
