Harmony… I’ve previously had that in my life, but only once, briefly, a while ago. It was during the time I’d started my first year of college. My own apartment, a new old car, and a life free of deadbeat stepfathers, all of which was fulfilling enough. But if it wasn’t, I also had a best friend, soul mate, and boyfriend all in one. Yes, life was near perfect. But one stormy night can change everything… For many months I rested in a prolonged sleep, fighting for my life. Well, more than fighting for it, also dreaming of it. Dreaming of him. Thank goodness, the dream is over and I’m back in the real world now. And all I want is for everything to return to the way it was. But nothing’s the same; most of all, us. Once again, I find myself at the crossroads of a ruthless battle, this time not for life, but love. Do I fight for the guy I twice fell for, or do I let her take him away?

Heather woke from her coma but now everything is different. Almost three years have passed and her boyfriend is now engaged. She is going back to college but finding it difficult to move on when she feels like she just fell in love. During her coma she relived her first six months of college and falling in love with Nick. She doesn't want to give him up. Does she move on or fight for a taken man?

Heather was lucky enough to have Creed with her every step of the way. Creed visited Heather in the hospital every single day while she was in her coma and got her a place to live once she came out of it. He was the greatest friend any one could have. I was partly rooting for Heather to move on and be with Creed. Creed dropped hints that he wanted more and they really understood each other. All the times Creed was there for Heather was real love but maybe only in friendship. No matter what happened I knew they would stay friends. Since Nick was now engaged I was really unsure which way things would go.

Nick is a good guy and really wants to keep his word. He had a long history explaining why that was so important to him. Keeping a promise is important but not at the cost of hurting everyone anyway in the end. I grew to like him a bit more in this book. In the first book I felt like Heather thought of him as too perfect. I wanted Heather to be happy but at the same time I did think it was wrong to keep pushing Nick when he was engaged. While Heather feels like they were just together it has been three years for Nick. I wanted Nick and Heather to really face up to what happened and have a good talk about it but they avoided it for a long time. They would just mention little things here and there and that kind of drove me nuts.

I felt this book was even more emotional than the first. The first was so much about falling in love and this one was all about love, friendship, moving on, and doing what is best for the person you love. Heather did what was right in her heart but also knew that she could let go if that was what was best for Nick. As a fan of happy endings I think everything worked out really well. But I also wouldn't have minded it go either way and for a while I was really unsure how it would end. Heather had great friends and would have found happiness no matter what happened. A really beautiful and emotional story that had me tearing up and thinking about love in different ways.

"But it was a hobby from so long ago. Three years ago. Could there be pleasure in that again? Could there be happiness within a lonely little sphere, without the man who once made it so happy? Knowing what companionship felt like, was it possible to go back to being alone? And feel any level of contentment? That's the problem with being in love; if your heart's been there, it wants to go back."

"I don't know what I'd do without you."
"You don't have to think about that. I'll always be here." And their arms latched together.
Yes, he would be. Because she couldn't imagine life without him.

Reflection by Jessica Roberts

Bright, spunky Heather Robbins has escaped her small hometown and is anxiously beginning her freshman year of college. Rising above her rocky childhood, she’s found a place where good things are finally starting to happen: her own private apartment, refreshing college classes, and an intense attachment to a mysterious and rugged classmate, Nick Richards. But when her dreamy college life turns out to be nothing more than a wonderful dream while resting in a coma, questions threaten. Now, Heather must press forward to unlock the real past, and find the answers buried deep in her mind. What she unlocks instead is a roller coaster ride through flashbacks, embellished memories, and a whirlwind romance. And when it’s all over and she comes face to face with the truth, will she lose everything she’s fallen in love with?
