  1. Looking for Alaska by John Green is a defintie favorite, and I just recently finished Paper Towns and liked it as well. Something Like Normal by Trish Doller was pretty extraordinary, there is, of course, The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta, and if yu haven't, do yourself a favor and read The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner.
That's all I can think of right now, but I'll email you if something else comes to mind.
I'll read Before You Go by James Preller since I have it for review anyway.

As for recommendations... If you want to go totally crazy and lose every sense of reality, go pick up The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebaer by Walter Moers. I laughed my ass off, but you also need a lot of imagination!
I haven't read I Hunt Killers or Lies Beneath yet, but I want to sooo bad! So of course you could pick those up before me. ^^ I just read Something Like Normal by Trish Doller a few weeks back, that was male PoV, and I think it was really bittersweet story. Or, if all fails you, you could always pick up the classic The Neverending Story by Michael Ende.
