Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

I'm most nervous about The Host coming out on March 29th 2013. The book has so much inner dialogue between Wanda and Melanie and those interactions contain so much of the emotion of the story. I have no idea how that will be portrayed in the movie. Voice-overs maybe? I'm still excited but movies are never as good as the books because of this. Movies leave out all the internal dialogue of the characters so I never feel as much emotion and understanding of the characters as I do while reading the books.

  4. That's one of my choices too. I just don't know how they can capture everything in the book in a movie!

  5. I have The Host waiting for me to read on my TBR bookcase so I'm going to have to take your word for it on this one. Love the creepy ring of "light" in her eye in the poster!

  7. I've noticed a few people expressing some worries over whether or not the film adaptation of The Host would turn out as well as they'd hoped it would. I'm starting to get a little tense about it, myself. I'm wondering how they're going to really capture that internal dialouge between Wanderer and Melanie. It's definitely going to be interesting.

    Great answer. :)

  11. I haven't read The Host yet but I would be interested to see how they do the internal dialogue too. I'm not looking forward to the Mortal Instruments movie, as you say, the movie is never as good as the book.

  14. Maybe they're pulling a HEROES on it? In the first two seasons or so the blond woman who was freakishly strong was suffering from dissociative personality disorder, I think.. Though, no, not really. It was a mixture. She was more aware of those personalities than most people are, and she could communicate with at least one of them as if they were standing next to her. They kind of did what happened in New Moon when Bella sees Edward everywhere, or in Buffy Season Seven when Buffy faces the Big Bad.

    *scratches head* Damn it.
