"Enthralled" is a collection of 14 original teen paranormal short stories from some of today's bestselling YA talent, united with the common theme of road trips.

I only read two of the stories out of this book so I'll just give a quickie little review of them.

Neiderwald by Rachel Vincent

I really wanted to learn a little more about Sabine and that is what I got from this story. Sabine and Emma are heading home from an extra credit school assignment when Sabine wants to stop in Neiderwald. A town full of evil harpies. Sabine wants to visit a seer again so she can find out if she and Nash will ever get together. It turns out this seer is how she found Nash in the first place. The seer then shows Sabine a picture of Kaylee being held in a more than a friend kind of way by a boy with curly hair. Really neat to learn how Sabine knew about them all along.

"You broke the rules."
I shrugged. "I'm pretty sure they're going to carve that on my headstone."

Bridge by Jeri Smith-Ready

This short story takes place during Shift. It is when Logan finally gets a chance to work things out with his brother. He finds a girl that neither of them know so she can talk to his brother for him. Logan is always so sweet and breaks my heart. His thoughts on Aura, their childhood, his brother, everything is so real and sad. A great addition to the Shade series. The format of his story was really unique too.

Everyone knows
Elvis died in the bathroom.
Thanks to the internet,
everyone knows
that I did too.
But at least I was wearing pants.

Rating: 5/5 Stars!

  1. Only 2 stories!! You must go back sometime and read more ;) Anthologies are great when you're in between books and you just want a quickie read. Skin Contact was AWESOOOOME!! But that's just MHO...

I love Sabine's quote!! I actually read that story before I even started Soul Screamers! I wasn't sure I'd like Kaylee... go figure!

    great review!!

    1. Oh I know I should read some of the other stories but I purposely got the book for those two. I just don't want to be spoiled if some of the stories take place during other series I haven't read yet.

  2. I've read all the stories in this book and I've found myself dissapointed with several stories. Some blew me away, some really let me down.

    1. Yeah that happens with such a large collection from so many different authors. I really enjoyed the two stories I read but they were both from authors and series that I already love.

  3. You're right to be cautious because there are a couple that take place within already established worlds, but some are original stories that you need to check out!

Two of my fav stories were Let’s Get This Undead Show on the Road by Sarah Rees Brennan and The Third Kind by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Those are both original stories, so no worries about spoilers!

    1. Thanks! Yeah I wish there would have been a little introduction before each story so that way I knew what was an original stand alone short story and what were novellas within already established series. I really love little extra stories in a series but I didn't want to be spoiled. Thanks for the info!

  4. I've read all the stories in this book. As another poster said, some I absolutely loved and didn't want them to end and others I hated. At least with a short story if you dislike one, there is another to move on to.

    1. Yeah I really enjoyed the two stories I read. I liked that they took place during the series and I got a little extra something towards the series. I want to try some of the stand alone stories next so I don't spoil myself. A few of the stories are from series that I still need to read.
