Monday, December 22nd – Best Books I’ve Read in 2014
(Doesn’t have to be released in 2014, just a book you’ve read in 2014)
I read way less books this year than I have for the past several years yet it was still impossible for me to choose 10 so I decided to go with 10 paranormal/fantasy/dystopians and 10 contemporaries/new adults. They link to goodreads in case you want to check any of them out.

These are all lovely! I must now add to be TBR Forever Song...because Vamps...as well as The Madman's Daughter (which I love the cover and have been trying to find the time to read), and definitely want to looking into The Forest of Hands and Teeth....(what a Title!)...Thanks for stopping by Reading in the Tardis. I am "haunting" you on Twitter and Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteThese are some great lists!! I've really want to read On The Fence now I had been (pun completely intended) on the fence about that one =P
ReplyDeleteSilver Shadows and Isla are both on my TBR short list, I'm so glad to see you loved them too!
Emily @ Falling For YA
OHHH The Return was sooooo good! I agree completely. And Ignite Me was amazing. I have to get caught up on the Bloodlines series. I adore Adrian. Great lists.
ReplyDeleteI love all your picks and your short and sweet summaries~ I need to start the Shatter Me trilogy but I'm really looking forward to that chapter 55 ;)
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read Evertrue! I'm not sure why, as I loved the first two books so much. I love Cole, but I'm pretty sure that Nikki will pick Jack. I'm still holding out hope I guess ;) Awesome list!
ReplyDelete*fangirls* I LOVE all of your choices! I totally was balling like a baby at the end of Everture! <3
ReplyDelete- Beckie @ Bittersweet Enchantment
Awesome list! I've been meaning to read so many of the books on your list, especially the Contemporary/New Adult one.
ReplyDeleteGreat list. It's so much fun going from blog to blog and seeing everyone's favorites and then adding to my bloated to read pile. Happy holidays to you.

Phew! Lots of excellent choices! I loved On the Fence and Opposition, and enjoyed Ruin and Rising and The Madman's Daughter. I'll be binge-reading Tahereh Mafi's debut series soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Have a fabulous holiday!
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Aww, Whatever Like Throws At You was soo cute. I loved it! <3 And I so need that Kasie West book in my life! Is it too late to ask Santa for it? ;)
ReplyDeleteI've heard many (steamy) things about chapter 55 of Ignite Me and I'm scared-excited to get to it! The Forest of Hands Teeth is a great read, glad you loved the story! The Madman's Daughter and We Were Liars were books I was thinking about reading; I think I'll give them a try!
ReplyDeleteBarbara @ My Bibliophile Mind
Some of these I still need to read but on all the ones that I have read, I couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteGreat list of books!
Oh my gosh! There are SO MANY great picks! Seriously, I can't even...We Were Liars, Isla, Ruin and Rising, yep! They're all on my "to buy" list when I am no longer broke due to the holidays and I can put them on my shelves. lol. Oh wait, I have Ruin and Rising. lol. But, the other's...yes. I love this list so much! :)
ReplyDeleteAdrian IS the best of everything! <3
ReplyDeleteI'm also bumping up BREATHE, ANNIE, BREATHE on my TBR. It's getting a lot of love!
So much awesomeness in one place! I almost had a bookgasm there. LMAO! I just recently started reading YA dystopian this year, so way to add to my TBR pile. Not that I'm complaining; the more the merrier! Fab list, thanks for stopping by today! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many great choices on your list! Most of them I haven't read except Silver Shadows, The Madman's Daughter, and On The Fence. I'm glad those are on your list! Especially Silver Shadows! Though Adrian is MINE! lol :)
ReplyDeleteOmygod this list is long. LOL. I'm currently reading Whatever Life Throws At You and I need to read it soon if you put it on your Top books list of the year. xD
ReplyDeleteOooh, I LOVED THE FOREVER SONG & RUIN & RISING so much too!! AWESOME Picks!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Top Ten @ Addicted Readers! :)
Awesome picks. I loved Forever Song and the awesomeness of Zeke. Thanks for stopping by my post.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great list and there are so many I want to read. I just bought The Madman's Daughter so I can't wait to read it. Thanks for stopping by my post and have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad The Forest of Hands and Teeth made it on your list! That's one of my favorites, but I don't see it around often. I wish I could've put Silver Shadows on my list, but . . . I haven't read it yet. D: This needs to change soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm scared for the last Bloodlines book! I love Kasie West, I wanted to feature all her books (since I read them all this year) but that would have taken like half my list.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED This Song Will Change Your Life. And Daemon OMG <3 You have great picks, I swear to God! The absolute best :)
ReplyDeleteLoved a lot of your picks and some I still must read. And I didn't know Sophie Kinsella had another Shopaholic book. I think I'm going to run to Amazon to grab a Kindle copy! Kasie West's books are so awesome, too. And ISLA was fantastic. So glad it came out this year. I am so far behind on RM's series but I must catch up on it when the last book is due to release. Fantastic list!
ReplyDeleteLove the list. There are so many books there that I've added to my TBR pile.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I am SO behind on the Shatter Me series... I've only read the first book! Really need to get on that, lol. What a great list!! There are a whole bunch of books on it that I will be reading in the near future (hopefully, lol)!
ReplyDeleteThe Forest of Hands and Teeth is definitely on my winter reads list. Thanks for stopping by my blog on the hop!!
ReplyDeleteA lot of bloggers have The Forever Song on their 2014 Top Tens, I should probably have a look at it on Goodreads. :)
DeleteSweet! I read Evertrue, but didn't find it as good as the rest of the series. Enjoyed Opposition, though. Can't wait to see the rest of your top tens. :)
ReplyDeleteI so want to read the Madman's Daughter!! I love creepy, creepy is good.
ReplyDeleteGreat list, we have a few in common. Thank you for stopping by and happy holidays :)
ReplyDeleteGreat lists, I have a few of those that I need to read. Thanks for sharing and stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list-so many are on my TBR!
ReplyDeleteHaven't read any of those but some of them are on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteHere's my list - http://reviewingshelf.wordpress.com/2014/12/22/best-books-ive-read-in-2014/
I've only read Isla from your list. But, you have a ton of books that I want to read like Ignite Me, We Were Liars, On the Fence, The Return, and Lux. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour list is amazing! I love ignite me (haven't read it yet but I'm in love with the cover), Evertrue, Ruin and rising, The 5th wave (favourite), love the jennifer Armentrout & the Richelle Mead books and the other books/ covers look incredible too! Happy holidays :)
ReplyDeleteSofia @ SofiaLovesReading
We Were Liars almost made my list, it did totally blow my mind though, haha! And yes! On the Fence, sooo cute! I need to finish Ruin and Rising and I recently picked up the whole Everneath series, can't wait to check it out! Awesome list!!
ReplyDeleteSo many great books! Ignite Me, definitely! I have This Song Will Save Your Life and ISLA on my desk now, ready to be read. I'm so interested in Amour Amour. I'll probably buy an ebook of that one soon. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind on all of the series I've started so the only one I can agree with you on is Silver Shadows because Sydrian in that book gave me so much feels. The Forest of Hands and Teeth is a good novel and Carrie Ryan is such a nice person. I really enjoyed the concept of that world. Didn't love the sequel as much, but it was still good and you should give it a shot.
ReplyDeleteIt was SO hard to pick such a small number! I like your approach. :) And there are so many I agree with! Looooved Ignite Me, On the Fence, and To All the Boys I've Loved Before especially. :D :D
ReplyDeleteRachel @ Paper Cuts
Great list!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading The Madman's Daughter! It is so creepy! And To All The Boys is awesome. I definitely need the sequel now too! Ignite Me was good. And I love Ruin & Rising. The only other one on your list that I've read is Isla and the Happily Ever After, which I loved! I think it was my favorite out of the three! And there are a lot on here that I need to read!
Great post! And thanks so much for stopping by my blog! :D
