WOW #89

Happy New Year!
Hope everyone is having a great 2014 so far!

I'm waiting on

 Half Bad (Half Life, #1)

Half Bad by Sally Green
Release Date March 4th 2014

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18079804-half-bad

A stunning, magical debut. An international sensation.

In modern-day England, witches live alongside humans: White witches, who are good; Black witches, who are evil; and fifteen-year-old Nathan, who is both. Nathan’s father is the world’s most powerful and cruel Black witch, and his mother is dead. He is hunted from all sides. Trapped in a cage, beaten and handcuffed, Nathan must escape before his sixteenth birthday, at which point he will receive three gifts from his father and come into his own as a witch—or else he will die. But how can Nathan find his father when his every action is tracked, when there is no one safe to trust—not even family, not even the girl he loves?

In the tradition of Patrick Ness and Markus Zusak, Half Bad is a gripping tale of alienation and the indomitable will to survive, a story that will grab hold of you and not let go until the very last page.

Why I'm Waiting?
I haven't participated in this meme for two months because I ran out of books I was looking forward to. LOL But I found this one and it sounds interesting. Witches, danger, being hunted, and fighting your evil half and what not.

  6. I've seen this one around but I hadn't paid much attention to it. I like the idea of fighting good and evil in oneself, being a part of both sides, though. Thanks for sharing!

  12. LOL welcome back, Jen!

Penguin randomly sent me an ARC of this book - that was the first time I'd heard of it LOL. I think it was a pity ARC because they didn't send me Landry Park (an ARC I requested). Anyway, I believe this one is on NetGalley, if you didn't know! It sounds pretty great - I hope you read it and enjoy!
