Stacking The Shelves #58

Hosted By Tynga's Reviews

3 Author Signing Hauls!
This week was crazy! I barely did anything because it was a 3-4 hour round trip drive to each signing on 3 different work nights but I got to meet some great authors.

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)   Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2)

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)   Walking Disaster (Beautiful, #2)   Red Hill

So I admit I haven't read Insurgent because I wanted to wait and be able to read it back to back with Allegiant. After all the talk and 1 star reviews about the ending I am extremely nervous and have used extreme will power not to look at those reviews or spoilers but I have a feeling I will also be disappointed because I usually am. LOL But at the signing she said the one thing that she never changed from her outlines was the ending so I'm not sure if that should make me feel better or worse.
Allegiant (Divergent, #3)

This signing was packed! I expected it to be about like the Cassandra Clare signing I went to but it was even bigger. Line to get in wrapped around 3 blocks. People were given a signing group letter A-Z and I was group I and I had to wait quite awhile to get my book signed. I bet the Z people probably had to wait till 2am or something.

The Lover's Dictionary   How They Met and Other Stories   Two Boys Kissing   Are We There Yet?   Every Day (Every Day, #1)

Attachments   Fangirl   Eleanor & Park

There is a character Jennifer in this book so I thought it was funny that she wrote she named the character after me! LOL

They even served rainbow cupcakes for Rainbow Rowell! :-D And skittles!
David and Rainbow read a scene from Fangirl together and were so funny. A great author duo!

  6. Reading INSURGENT and ALLEGIANT back to back is wise. But I didn't have the patience to put off INSURGENT that long.

I am so jealous of all those signed books. They're all ones I want to read or ones I LOVED. You''re so lucky!

  7. Wow! Look at you at these author signings. I am a bit envious since nobody seems to come around here. I'm kind of like you with Allegiant, I'm holding off on reading it. I already know pretty much how it ends, and therefore can have some patience and borrow it from the library instead. Happy reading!

  9. Thanks for stopping by my STS! Incredible book haul! I loved Hopeless and Losing Hope. I'm scared to read Allegiant too and I had no self-control and peeked at a spoiler. I'll probably wait until my library has it. Happy reading!

  10. I want to pick up the Lovers Dictionary one day as it sounds really cool. I think I'm in the minority here, but RR's books are not really my cup of tea - the covers, however, are lovely!

  13. OH MY GOD. You are LITERALLY the luckiest person in the whole world. There are no words. Colleen Hoover, Jamie McGuire, David Levithan, AND Veronica Roth? This is the best possible haul I can think of. Thanks for checking out my STS!

  14. WOW! You had a busy week with author signings.

I attended the Veronica Roth signing in NYC and that was CRAZY. 950 people were there. Absolutely insane. Not to mention two stars from the movie also made an appearance. But she was super nice and really talkative, which was fantastic.

You met a lot of great authors and have got a lot of great signed books out of it! If you haven't read them all, I hope you enjoy them!

    Thanks for stopping by! :)

  21. Wow so many great books! You managed to meet some really amazing authors, I am quite jealous right now!

I'm only about 50% into Allegiant but so far it's turning out to be my most disappointing read of 2013! Doesn't feel like a planned book, more a regurgitated version of things we have seen in the first two books. So the ending probably won't change my opinion much!

  27. I am so excited for you! You got so many wonderful treasures. Make me think that if we ever find ourselves in a post apocalyptic world when everyone else is trading for food and water, bloggers and reading fans can barter with books :) - LOL
