Authors Are Rockstars ~ Tahereh Mafi Interview & Giveaway!

Tahereh Mafi a rock star because of her great amazing writing style! So descriptive and unique. She has amazing characters! Juliette, Warner, Adam & Kenji are some of my favorite characters ever. Her books also have spectacular romance, drama and action! No one has ever had me switch teams in the middle of a series but her. I also never usually like the bad guy but Warner has so many intriguing layers. She wrote chapter 62!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is probably one of the best things she has ever done! LOL If you haven't had a chance to read her books yet I strongly suggest you do! I am so excited for Ignite Me! Tahereh is also hilarious. I love her How to Eat a Pomegranate video. Really cracked me up. I was extremely lucky earlier this year and was able to meet her in person at an autograph signing! She was extremely nice and funny in person! An amazing rock star author!

If you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be?

Are you there, God? It’s me, Tahereh.

What other places do you look for inspiration or research for your book?

tumblr + awesome music + actual human experiences

How did you get interested in writing this particular genre?

I don’t have an affinity for any particular genre. I just love YA.

One of your favorite quotes?

“Sometimes you just have to go through a door.” – Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Where is one place in the world that you would really love to visit someday?

Antarctica.

Now that you are a rock star author, what has been the most memorable fan encounter?

Seriously, every encounter blows my mind. They’re each unique and wonderful in their own ways.

Which rock star author would you like to meet?

J.K. Rowling omgomgomgomg

If you gave one of your characters an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say?

Kenji would probably demand I set him up with a lady.

Tell us something at random / Tell us a guilty pleasure.

I used to breakdance. / I love dipping oreos in my tea.

What is the most difficult part of writing?

All of it.

I love the shatter me shoes! Any Unravel Me shoes or other book related accessories in the making?

Yes! Always. Nothing finished or official yet, though.

      

What question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview? How would you answer that question?

Well. Now I’m totally stumped.

When will the third book's title be released?!?

It already has! And it’s called… IGNITE ME! Dun dun dun

I must mention the infamous chapter 62 that I have read probably 100 times. Were you expecting such a strong reaction and for so many people to switch to Team Warner such as I did?

Definitely not, but I’m tickled to see such strong reactions from readers. I love it.


Whose POV will be the second e-novella?

I just announced this on twitter not too long ago, actually. The second e-novella will take place between UNRAVEL ME and IGNITE ME and it will be told from Adam’s POV.

What are 4 things you never leave home without (apart from keys, money and phone)?

My pants.

Sleep in or get up early?

Get up early!

Laptop or desktop for writing?

Laptop.

What is your favorite thing to do during the summer?

Read. Travel. Read.

Lastly is there anything else that you would like to say to your readers and fans?

I am madly in love with you guys. Never stop being amazing.

    Haven't read her books, but I've heard everyone totally go crazy for her, and after reading her answers I have to say, she's so grounded and down to earth and candid in her answers, she seems like a totally wonderful person, which makes her a DOUBLE rock star!     AHHHH!!!! the second novella will be from Adam's POV!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! Gah, I love Tahereh to much. She's SO cool and super nice and gah! Also, have you SEEN her bag? it's SUPER cool. :D I can't wait for all of her books. She just needs to write ALL the books, cause, yup.

    I think Tahereh is a ROCK STAR because she gets me excited to read a book. I went through all my teens and early 20's refusing to read a book. Someone that has that kind of talent to write these amazing books is definitely a rock star. Now I have the motivation to continue to find new and exciting things to read.     Tahereh is so amazing! Her writing is very unique and it pains me to see people on Goodreads bashing her books. I loved these books so very much and I cannot wait for the 2nd novella and the 3rd book to come out. The only thing I am mad about is the first hardback doesn't match my collection! -cries- and I really hope the novellas get made into hardbacks one day =)

Tahereh Mafi is a rockstar Author to me because I love that she writes a female character who can be strong and brave and doesn't make apologies for being either. Plus she invented the character of Warner and that's pretty awesome in and of itself.

    I have heard so many beyond amazing things about this series! And I need to start them asap. I am sooooo curious anut Chapter 62.....I wanna know what happens!!!     I think Tahereh is a rock star because you feel that her characters are very realistic in their personalities and it's really easy to relate to them. Also, it doesn't hurt that she created the masterpiece that is Warner. Dark, obsessive, psychotic, sexy, manipulative and deceitful among lots of other characteristics.

    I haven't finished Shatter Me yet (yes I know, blasphemy!) but so far I'm really hooked and I cannot wait for more of the series!

    I think Tahereh is a rockstar because she sounds like a heap of fun, I'm really enjoying her book, and she has amazing rockstar style! I mean, though shoes are gorgeous and completely awesome!

    I do think Tahereh Mafi is one of the most unique authors in YA world these days. I love her writing style so much and she's the only author who could get me to love BOTH of the boys in a YA love triangle! #TeamBoth! LOL :p
    And from her twitter account or many interviews she's done in the past, Tahereh seems to have a really really fun personality. It's so easy to like her in person <3

    Because she writes such incredible books (with amazing covers) and she seems to genuine! I just love reading her interviews and seeing what people say about her from events they have been to - their comments about her are always that she was so sweet!

    I don't think I've ever not know who the girl was going to pick before...and I swear I'm going INSANE because of it! First she writes a Warner novella, so I'm convinced its him, now one about Adam? My world is being turned upside down, backwards and in circles right now? Why do you have to do this to me??

    No doubt “Tahereh Mafi” is a big rock star of girl rock bands. I am really a big fan of her as well as the entire band. Also her thoughts are so true & inspiring for the humans.
