Split Second (Pivot Point #2) by Kasie West
Expected Release Date February 11th 2014
Life can change in a split second.
Addie hardly recognizes her life since her parents divorced. Her boyfriend used her. Her best friend betrayed her. She can’t believe this is the future she chose. On top of that, her ability is acting up. She’s always been able to Search the future when presented with a choice. Now she can manipulate and slow down time, too . . . but not without a price.
When Addie’s dad invites her to spend her winter break with him, she jumps at the chance to escape into the Norm world of Dallas, Texas. There she meets the handsome and achingly familiar Trevor. He’s a virtual stranger to her, so why does her heart do a funny flip every time she sees him? But after witnessing secrets that were supposed to stay hidden, Trevor quickly seems more suspicious of Addie than interested in her. And she has an inexplicable desire to change that.
Meanwhile, her best friend, Laila, has a secret of her own: she can restore Addie’s memories . . . once she learns how. But there are powerful people who don’t want to see this happen. Desperate, Laila tries to manipulate Connor, a brooding bad boy from school—but he seems to be the only boy in the Compound immune to her charms. And the only one who can help her.
As Addie and Laila frantically attempt to retrieve the lost memories, Addie must piece together a world she thought she knew before she loses the love she nearly forgot . . . and a future that could change everything.

So excited for this one!!! Interesting that we will now have Addie and Laila's POV. I wonder if Laila will give Addie back her memory of choosing to live with her dad.

I loved everything about Pivot Point! But especially the way Addie was forced to choose the one she didn't want to because she had to keep Laila alive. I'm so excited for Split Second!
ReplyDeleteI love how it all worked despite the alternating versions of the future, and of course the romance:)
ReplyDeleteI loved Pivot Point soooo much! I pre ordered it after reading reviews of the ARCs. I loved how the author seamlessly made two stories one. And the characters were awesome!

ReplyDeleteHonestly, though. Pivot Point was a quality book, so I'm so stoked for this next one. I loved how there was two realities in Pivot Point. Obviously that won't happen again... but its okay because I'm totally excited to read from Laila's point of view. Woop woop!
I loved the idea of alternate realities and humans with extraordinary powers living in a compound away from us Norms. And Trevor. I LOVED Trevor. :D
ReplyDeleteI love the cover and the plot!

I loved Pivot Point so I am super excited about this one! I loved the two different futures and all that happened. I am so glad we will see more of Trevor in this one as well!
ReplyDeleteI loved Pivot Point because of the unique story!
ReplyDeleteI loved pretty much everything about Pivot Point especially the well-done dual perspective-it was very easy to keep track of which future we were following. I was skeptical about a sequel but am excited to see how this one turns out.
ReplyDeleteI follow you :)
The cover is gorgeous!! I still haven't read Pivot Point :(
ReplyDeleteGreat cover!
ReplyDeleteAlready follow, and love the cover
ReplyDeleteThe way the author told the story and delivered two alternate realities between chapters was WOAH. Katie handled it like a real pro, I can just imagine how many Junior Mints she would have needed to get her through writing it!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read Pivot Point, but I hope I'll get to do read it before the summer is over. I do, however, loved the blurb and all the reviews I read about this book are amazing.
