Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart. Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind. With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love. But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

"I was taking the long road and Camryn was taking the road to nowhere and it just so happens that they led to the same place."

This quote explains the entire book. Two people on the road to figuring things out when they collide and end up helping each other get to a good place. Camryn is feeling a bit lost. Not sure what to do with her life and still mourning the loss of her high school boyfriend, not to mention a huge fight with her best friend, she just gets on a bus to nowhere. Picks a destination at random and rides. During one of the bus stops Andrew steps on and sits behind her. Follows both POVs which I love. It's always nice to see what both characters are thinking when they meet and as they get to know each other.

I just love road trips and journeys to self discovery. Although traveling by bus has to be the most awful way to travel. As Camryn and Andrew grow close during their bus ride they decide to drive back together. Take a chance and continue their journey together. Andrew is super respectful and gets separate hotel rooms. If I were Camryn that wouldn't last long lol but she is scared to put her feelings out there. But don't worry there are eventually some super hot scenes. They had to New Orleans for some fun along the way since they still are not sure what they want to head back to.

I loved that Andrew challenged Camryn to be open and honest. To face her fears and feelings and to live. Then again I was also mad at him because he wasn't open with his problems and feelings. I understood he wanted their trip to be memorable and that is why he didn't tell her but I thought that he could have at least met her half way and admitted he had feelings for her. I totally didn't guess what his issues were until 90% through and then I was a mess. I was so worried about these two.

It had a simple plot but really meaningful dialogue and some major emotional turmoil. I would laugh and then I'd want to cry but for most of the story it was hopeful and fun. I liked watching Camryn loosen up and live. It was a long journey with me balling crying but I loved where they ended up. I am excited that the author just released yesterday that there will be a sequel!

"Just that dwelling and planning is bullshit," he says. "You dwell on the past, you can't move forward. Spend too much time planning for the future and you just push yourself backwards, or you stay stagnant in the same place all your life." His eyes lock on mine. "Live in the moment," he says as if making a serious point, "where everything is just right, take your time and limit your bad memories and you'll get wherever it is you're going a lot faster and with less bumps in the road along the way."

"Do me a favor if you don't mind."
I've piqued his curiosity and he cocks his chin a little to one side. "Alright. What kind of favor? Is it sexual?"

"Well, if you're standing out here in the open lookin' all sexy and shit, I'd probably veer off the road looking at you, too."

"If you were to let me fuck you, you would have to let me own you."

"I belong to you, Andrew Parrish...I want you to own me..."

  6. I CAN’T believe that I still haven’t read this book! I bought it as soon as it came out but with tour books it just keeps getting left behind. I had actually forgotten about it until right now but this one is going back to the top of my TBR. These two sound great and I just love these emotional types of books.

  8. I liked this book, but for me it was a slow crawl to a great ending. I was becoming bored until about the 1/2 way mark and that's were I found myself enjoying it, more. Perfect quote-that is the bok in a nutshell.
