Freshman year of college is hard even when you're not tied to the future king of a supernatural society. Allie dives into college head first with Hailey as her roommate and the city of New Orleans as her backyard. As things within The Society heat up, Allie realizes that whether she’s with Levi or not, she's in far too deep to turn back.

I loved Flight and immediately devoured Focus as soon as I received it. Allie is starting her freshman year at college and trying to get a fresh start. Levi isn't really letting that happen. He loves Allie and wants forgiveness. I love Levi but he did do a really bad thing in Flight. I didn't think he should be forgiven easily and neither did Allie. She makes him work for it.

I was happy Allie wasn't a push over but then at the same time I was eventually getting a bit annoyed with her not giving Levi a second chance. He so clearly loves her and was really trying to make it up to her. Levi is prince of the secret paranormal society and Allie is now the princess. Allie fights it for awhile but Levi and his wings are hard to resist. I loved learning more about the paranormal society and Levi's duties. I feel like we still only barely skimmed the surface and would like to see further world building details in the next book.

Allie and Levi are so much fun together. They fight but it is always laced with sexual chemistry. I especially love one scene where Allie is thinking about sex with Levi's wings out because I have always wondered that in paranormal books! LOL I am like hmmm I think I would do some strange things...okay pulling my mind out of the gutter...Anyway I love Levi! He is protective, loyal, and awesome. Allie I would say often acts a bit rash. She isn't the most easy going girl but I like that she stands up for herself.

The ending had quite a twist that has me anxious. I worry that in the next book Allie will react poorly to the situation. She is still having difficulty trusting Levi after what he did in Flight. Peaked your curiosity about what Levi did right? If you haven't read Flight you definitely should! Find out what Levi did and what he is because after the Found cover reveal many thought Levi was an angel. He is not but I want you all to read the series and discover the paranormal secrets for yourselves! I am so excited for Found but also sad because it is the last book in the series!

"A chaste kiss could have accomplished the same thing. That wasn't chaste--your tongue was in my mouth, Al."
"Are you complaining?"
"Hell no. I happen to like your tongue...and the rest of you."

"You'll fly me home?"
"You know I'd fly you anywhere."

"So you've never done it with your wings out, right?"
He laughed. "No, I haven't." His hand settled on my very exposed leg.
"Could we?"
"Come home with me, Al, and we can do anything you want."

"Doesn't locking you in a soundproof room count as romantic?"
"No."
"Darn, I knew I should have popped open some champagne."

Rating: 4.5/5

Flight (The Crescent Chronicles #1)
Flight (The Crescent Chronicles, #1)
Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

Found (The Crescent Chronicles #3)
Found (The Crescent Chronicles, #3)
Levi might be hot, strong, and have a cool set of wings, but it's not enough to make up for keeping Allie in the dark.

Allie's tired of being left with more questions than answers. She's tired of loving a guy who refuses to level with her. Most of all, she's tired of her life spinning out of control.

Desperate to save Jess no matter the personal cost, Allie has to face the possibility that the only one she can trust is herself.

  1. I just read Flight and Focus back-to-back and really liked both. I just couldn't help but love Levi, even if he didn't always deserve it. Can't wait to read Found!

  3. I really am loving this series! I worry too about the ending of Focus. If Allie reverts back to the way she was in most of Focus I may have to smack her!
I adore Levi. He does nothing but love and worship her.

    Great review!

  4. Great review! I'm glad to hear Allie doesn't forgive Levi for whatever he did too quickly. I always get a little annoyed in those situations if it's not realistically paced. I know how much you enjoyed the first book so I'm glad the sequel delivered. :)

  13. I actually just finished reading Flight and I loved it! At times the writing grated me a little and I didn't really get into until after Allie learned about Levi. I knew there was something going on, and I just had to know. I, too, love Levi, but I kind of hated him a little for what he did (although I think his intention was an honest one). I can't wait to read Focus! :)

  24. Great review! I love this series. I was getting a little frustrated with Allie taking too long to forgive Levi to. I am excited and apprehensive about Focus to. I really, really don't want to see them break up. Oh, and I loved the wing sex thing to :)

  27. I love Alyssa’s books! This was a great addition to the story. I admit that I kind of wanted to just forgive Levi already and get it on! But what he did was crappy and I’m glad she made him work for it.
She writes the most awesome secondary characters, I want Jared’s story!
The scene with the wings is one of my favorites too and I added that quote to my review too :)
Can’t wait to read Found. I hope we get some Levi POV’s.
