Haunted by an animal attack, seventeen year old Charlotte feels she is being followed. When she runs into a mysterious boy while camping, she’s afraid. Nothing seems right about him. Despite trying to stay away, there is an unmistakable draw to be near him. Even his scent smells familiar. But the closer she gets, the faster the secrets begin to unravel. Not only is he not human, he may have a link to her past. When Charlotte finds out someone wants her dead, she is torn between love and fear. Can she trust him to keep her safe?   ADD TO GOODREADS

Charlotte is moving into a new town. On the way there she and her dad camp out and Charlotte runs into Liam. Liam is cute, a bit flirty, but strange. His eyes seem to turn gold and Charlotte feels like he looks at her in a predatory way. Liam then begins stalking her, showing up at her school and house. He is creepy in an inhuman kind of way and loves to sniff Charlotte but she is drawn to him. Charlotte makes several funny references to his weird stalkerish behavior. I was glad it was addressed and had humor. I liked Charlotte and Liam but felt a little disappointed with their relationship. It was a little insta-lovey. I still enjoyed their scenes together but felt like Liam fell for Charlotte really fast. At least Charlotte agreed with me and does tell Liam that he doesn't even know her. Liam scents something different about Charlotte and wants to get to know her.

I really loved Liam's friends and the way the pack was unique. They were really funny guys and provided a lot of comic relief. I also liked that they were sweet to Charlotte. There was an interesting werewolf history in this book. I was surprised to learn about how Liam became a werewolf in a very unique way, different from most werewolf books I've read. I love werewolves especially if they are different from the average.  As Liam and Charlotte grow closer, Charlotte begins to suspect Liam is still holding things back. As she investigates him, she unknowingly draws some dangerous, unwanted attention. Towards the end there was a lot of action and little twists and turns. A few secrets I had some suspicions about but it came out in a very exciting way in the end. I am excited to read the novella Alpha Moon next, which will be from Liam's POV. I would love to learn more about Liam's background. He has a very interesting family history that I was hoping to understand a little it bit more.

"Get the door."
"Have you lost it? How does he even know that I live here? I told you, total stalker."

Rating: 4/5

  9. Haha you've gotta love those stalker boys x) This is only the second time I've heard of this book, but you make me want it even more! I just adore that simple-but-not cover, and I love how you put emphasis on the secondary characters in the book. I always love it best when there are characters to offer those smile-worthy moments of comic relief. All of Liam's friends sound like a blast to meet! :)

Amazing review, Jen! I really want to read this one soon, and it's so cool how the next book is from Liam's POV! ;) <3

    1. Oh yes some stalking is cute! LOL But sometimes it's creepy. I was just glad it was humorous which made it easier to go with the flow of it. The secondary characters were great. I know it is so rare that I have a chance to mention them because usually I'm not too into secondary characters. I love werewolf packs though. Thanks for stopping by!

  17. Hmm... I'm still a little skeptical of this one. I'm not the biggest fan of werewolves, but you did gt me intrigued over the history of werewolves and the different way that Liam became a werewolf. Thanks for the review!
