Stacking The Shelves #2

STSmall
Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!
Hosted By Tynga's Reviews

Won

A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle, #1)   The Replacement
Thanks to Haley @ Passing The Pages

I've heard some good and bad things about A Great and Terrible Beauty which just makes me all the more curious to read it. The cover of The Replacement is so creepy. I finally read a review of it awhile back and learned what it is really about and I'm very intrigued now!

Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1)    Shattered Souls (Souls #1)   Carrier of the Mark (Carrier Trilogy, #1)
Thanks to Jennifer @ My Cute Bookshelf

Very curious about Carrier of the Mark. Heard some good and bad things so I shall see. Shattered Souls has such a gorgeous cover. Wither was disturbing but I plan to re-read them before the release of the last book.

Marked (House of Night, #1)
Thanks to Shannon @ Wringing out Words

I won bath goodies but she threw this in too. I was always kind of curious about this series but I've had people tell me it gets aggravating later. Any of you read it?

For Review

Timepiece (Hourglass, #2)   Kissing Shakespeare   Velveteen (Velveteen, #1)
Hi my name is Jennifer and I'm a gluttonous Netgalleyaholic!
I seriously need to stop.
Oh but they're so pretty! You know you want them!
No, you have too many books to read.
But I can make time. I swear! I'll read all day and night.
Okay, I guess...if you promise.
I also talk myself into books. I may have a serious problem.

Leave your links to whatever!

It started out okay but turned meh. And I totally agree with you 100% on the talking yourself into getting books thing!

  27. This is a amazing shelf, I am so envious. At the same time, I am glad I don't have all those books laying around waiting to be read. I wouldn't know which to pick up first!
Now, I am a HUGE House of Night fan, although I have to admit the story loses momentum as you get into the 6th-7th novel, but that's because you are in so deep it can't be handled half-heartedly. I still think it's very amazing, and that there are a lot of unexpected turns up ahead of me (I'm on the 7th novel right now). I hope you'll try and enjoy it as much as I do.

  33. Awesome books - NetGalley is my nemesis, I'm trying to stay away but it's not easy!

I'd love to read The Replacement, particularly because of the creepy cover - I'm a sucker for them!

    Have a great week!

    ReplyDelete
  34. The House of Night series grabbed me at first but lost me around book six. I know what peoples mean by aggravating. I want to read Shattered Souls, it looks good.

I have been considering, whether to buy Hourglass or not, for ages now. Seeing as I would have to buy a US edition, I got held back by cost. I don't know why I haven't bought it as I have heard very good things. However now a UK publisher has snapped it up and is being released, considerably cheaper, this month. So I have it on pre-order and I cannot wait to read it! Then hopefully I'll get Timepiece if I enjoy it.

    Good Book Haul :)

    Thanks for visiting my StS.

  35. I'm really looking forward to reading Velveteen and Timepiece myself. I have an unhealthy addiction to NetGalley too! There's just no staying away. ;)

  36. I read the HON series and it killed me, but you know me.. Then again this series is the worst of all YA series for me. It's the mother of tropes and all. ;D I hope you enjoy all your books!

I am trying to wean myself off though because I have so many books I want to read at the moment that are not review books and I want to get through them so I'm trying to keep it small :) Only two books for me this week, I think I'm winning lol

  38. Oh, my God, so many amazing books here! The Replacement was absolutely beautiful to me, although some don't agree. I enjoy Yovanoff's writing so much.Shattered Souls was also one of my 2011 favorites, and I love that it's a standalone.
    Great post!

  39. Such awesome books! :) I read Marked and I really liked it, and I also have Velveteen from NetGalley and was going to request Timepiece but I haven't read the first one. o.O I'm also a hopeless NetGalley-oholic, and I got, like, six titles this week. Oh God, I need help. ;)

Thanks for stopping by my Stacking the Shelves Post!

I'm trying so hard to stay away from NetGalley at the moment until I've mostly caught up on the books I already got from there. Lol.
