On The Fringe

Claire is struggling to overcome the murder of her childhood friend and secret crush, Daniel. Everyone else seems to be moving on with their lives, but she's still trying to cope. The fact that she finds herself alone and drowning on her 16th birthday isn't helping. Neither is thinking she sees Daniel's face in murky water as she mysteriously resurfaces. But something happened during those four and a half minutes that will make her realize it was not just her imagination. As Claire and Daniel try to grasp a possible reconnection, other grudge-holding beings have plans of their own. Now, the two of them have to decide if their fleeting relationship is worth the possibility of Claire being trapped on the fringe forever. Beautifully told, On the Fringe intertwines fresh ideas about devotion, revenge, and the consequences that come with life and death.

Why I Picked It Up:  Cover Love! Beautiful cover! It caught my eye when I was scanning goodreads book giveaways. I read the summary and I have been in the mood for some more ghost stories since I finished The Mediator series by Meg Cabot.

Why You Should Read It:  Beautiful love story. Literally brought tears to my eyes.

Claire and Daniel have been friends since they were kids. But now she feels like it is more than friendship but doesn't feel she can tell him since he is her best friend's brother. He is also her brother's best friend. Daniel has noticed Claire lately and can't help but all of a sudden feel nervous around her. Now Daniel will never have the chance to tell Claire how he feels. During a party he attends, a fight breaks out and someone shoots him.

Switching POV's between Claire and Daniel we learn the beautiful friendship these two shared since they were five years old. Daniel just can't move on without Claire. Following her around we learn about their past and the now present danger Claire faces. A strange ghost force is bent on revenge against Daniel by taking it out on Claire. A past mistake is literally haunting Daniel. Some shocking surprises and a very heartbreaking love story. Totally own up to crying(as usual) during this one.

"Your not going to watch me sleep are you?” I teased. “Not like some creepy ghost-stalker?”

RATING: 4/5 Ghosties!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I haven't heard much about On the Fringe. It looks like something that I would like though. I can see why you have cover love. I wonder how many times they had to shoot the photo. This would be a great Shelf Candy Saturday post.

  2. Sometimes my cover love lets me down but I really enjoyed this story! I bought it for my kindle though so sadly I only get to enjoy the full beauty of the cover online!

  3. I haven't heard about this either. Thanks for the review. It looks like a good ghost story. I like the dual point of view storytelling too.
